South African Paramedic Services was established in 1999 as a sister company to Western Cape Paramedic Services (WCPS), a private ambulance company which grew to become a major player in the local emergency services industry as well as a significant presence nationwide.
The South African Paramedic Services is also a member of the South African Private Ambulance and Emergency Services Association. SAPAESA is responsible for ensuring standards are met in the industry.
SA Paramedic Services is an empowerment company equally owned by Neil Gargan and Kenny Hermanus.
Between the two, Neil and Kenny have some 70 years experience in the emergency medical services field.
The friendship between the two men grew from their “early days” when they worked together as a partnership for the Metro ambulance service.
Kenny joined Neil some time later at WCPS, and the two were then well placed to formalise a partnership when the opportunity arose to create SA Paramedic Services.
